BLD Knottie Get Together!

Tonight I went to another Knottie Get Together! We went to BLD in LA. http://www.bldrestaurant.com Yummy food! It was a lot of fun! We had a smaller group this time, so we really got to get to know eachother a bit better. As always I can't wait for the next one. I wonder if I will ever be able to move over to the nest. I just LOVE being a knottie!

MMMMMM.......Cake Tasting!

Friday, Josue and his mom, and me and my mom went to Beverly's Best Bakery in Fullerton. This was our first wedding cake tasting, and we were about ready to sign with them, but we wanted to hold off and wait to see if we can find a bakery that has red velvet cake (my favorite)
However this bakery had a unique cookies and cream filling that was AMAZING!!!

This is a picture of my parents wedding cake, we are modeling our wedding cake after this one, cause we like the "two hearts become one" theme that my parents had at their wedding. I know it's kinda corny, but it's sweet.

Our cake will have three tiers stacked on top of eachother, with two heart shaped cakes on the side. The tiers will have black ribbon on the bottom, and white scrolls. The heart shaped cakes will have black scrolls.

The accents on our cake table will be red, as well as the cake topper so the cake will be black and white. But this picture shows an idea of what the scrolls will look like. And we will have NO flowers on our cake. I don't like the idea of live flowers on our food. I keep picturing bugs in our cake ;)

Wedding Trends of 2008

These are some interesting wedding trends that I read about, thought I would share. Some of them I love, some of them I hate. But I think everyone should have a unique wedding, with whatever trends they want, and whatever elements they love! The unique weddings are always the one's I remember the most!

First trend: glam. Yes indeed, glamorous weddings are in this year. Say goodbye to the simple and quiet wedding. The trend this year is to shout it out to the rest of the world and let everyone know about your wedding. Elegance and sophistication are the themes for this year’s weddings. Then again, this is just a trend and it does not mean that you should follow it. Good for those who have a taste for the glamorous, though!
Second trend: pay particular attention to the back of the wedding dress. Common sense will tell us that most of the time, the wedding guests will be seeing the back of the bride as she will be facing the minister. As such, the trend is for embellished backs. No matter which style you choose for your dress, try to add a little more detail and flair to the back of your gown.
Third trend: go for something that will make a statement. This is in regard to the color theme for the wedding ceremony. From the bride’s gown and the groom’s suit to the flowers and decorations, the trend is to use rich and bold colors such as purple, gold, orange, and the like. Gone are the days of cute and sweet pastels. Of course, you have to choose something that you actually like. More than that, make sure the color of your gown will suit your skin tone as well. Making a statement does not mean that you should not take your aesthetics into consideration as well.
Fourth trend: be square! Being square is a good thing, when it comes to tables that is. Round and rectangular tables for the reception are not the in thing this year, mainly because square tables facilitate interaction among the guests better. More than that, it is easier to plan the layout of the reception area when using square tables. Adding decorations are also better with square tables.

Knottie Get Together

So, as some of you know I am part of the Knot's message boards. We call ourselves "knotties" I have had so much fun "talking" and "listening" to all the other brides to be, and recent brides, and even the one's who call themselves hags. =) We all have our pet-peeves, but never are too critical. Mostly it's giving and receiving advice about weddings, and other stuff too. I guess if you're not part of it, you may not understand it. Well anyways a lot of us got together on Saturday 2/23 in Burbank, and had a long lunch, a very long lunch! We had such a great time! The girls are great, and I hope we all keep in touch, even if it is just on the knot! So for those of you that know the lingo here are some pictures from our recent knottie GTG. Thanks Anne for the pictures.

I seriously can't wait!

I just wanted to share how much I love my fiance Josue! He is such an amazing guy. We had so much fun yesterday we stayed the night in Hollywood, and went to see Wicked! (which was amazing by the way) I had such a great time. And of course I know that marriage won't be exactly like all of our "vacations", but I can't wait to spend everyday together. We are eachother's best friends, and can't wait to become husband and wife. Babe, I know you're probably reading this, so I just want you to know how much I love you. I know all this wedding stuff sometimes gets the best of us, but I really think it's just us being us, and super excited for the marriage itself. As always I'm amazed by you everyday.
Love you-D

One year anniversary of our engagement!

Las year on valentine's day Josue asked me to be his wife! He started by asking my mother's permission two nights before, which I had no idea of. Then on Valentine's night we went to the melting pot in Pasadena. Then he took me to the spot of our first date in San Pedro, we exchanged Valentine cards and gifts. It was so beautiful and romantic. Then we were on our way what I thought to be home when he told me he had one last surprise, I had to close my eyes. Then a few minutes later we stopped and I got out of the car, stil with my eyes covered. When he told me to open them he was on one knee professing his love and his desire for us to grow old together. I was so excited and in disbelief, that I didn't even realize we were at the place where we first met. (A place I said like once in the past that it was cute when guys took girls too when they proposed who knew he was even listening!) It was so perfect, and beautiful how could I not say yes to the man of my dreams! I love Josue so much and can't wait to become his wife! This year has flown by, and now we only have 51/2 more months till the big day! I love you babe!
